Austen grew up in Iowa and attended the University of Redlands in Southern California. Upon graduation he began his career at the commercial division of Enterprise Rent-A-Car where he worked with many small business owners and ran a retail branch. Austen started his career in finance with Metlife Investors before moving to San Diego to work at the home office of LPL Financial. In 2015, he joined Raymond James and subsequently moved to Denver with his wife Whitney. In their free time, they enjoy snowboarding, fishing, hiking, and golf.
