Rick Patterson

Managing Director

Rick joined Raymond James in 2012 and has over 31 years of municipal finance experience. He has served as senior banker and financial advisor for more than $25 billion in financings for Southeast counties, cities, school districts and special purpose authorities. Prior to joining the firm, he served as managing director with a major Wall Street investment bank, and also as a senior managing consultant at a national public financial advisory firm.

Having extensive experience with Florida school districts, Rick served as senior banker and financial advisor for over $7 billion in financings for the county school districts of Broward, Collier, Escambia, Flagler, Hillsborough, Lake, Lee, Leon, Manatee, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Pasco, Palm Beach, Pinellas, Polk, Santa Rosa, Seminole, and Volusia. His extensive public finance experience also includes a number of Florida governmental issuers, including Tampa Bay Water, the state of Florida, Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund, Osceola County, Manatee County, Marion County, Lake County, the city of Tampa and many others.

Rick's background also includes extensive experience with credit and financial products, assisting Southeast issuers with the evaluation and execution of bank loans, interest rate swaps and other balance sheet products. He completed nearly $10 billion in transactions for issuers including Cherokee County Water and Sewerage Authority in Georgia, the school districts of Broward, Orange, Palm Beach, Pasco and Polk counties, Lakeland Regional Health System, Sarasota Memorial Health System, Tampa Bay Water, Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority, Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority and East Baton Rouge.

A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Rick received a Bachelor of Art degree in zoology. He also earned a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in business finance and investments from the University of Memphis and currently holds his Series 7, 50, 52, 53 and 63 licenses.
