Matt Waters joined the ICD Northeast region as a business development consultant (BDC) in 2020 after spending three years on Raymond James’ AdvisorChoice team. During his three years as an AdvisorChoice consultant, Matt established himself as a valued recruiting partner across all channels at Raymond James. He looks forward to continuing those relationships in the field. Matt has worked closely with financial advisors for over 15 years, previously on the product side and now in business development.

Matt was previously at Raymond James from 2003 to 2008. He started as a mortgage consultant at Raymond James Bank before joining Asset Management Services (AMS) as an internal wholesaler. While with AMS, Matt rose to the level of product specialist manager before departing the firm. Subsequent roles included branch manager of a Scottrade office with $400 million AUM (Louisville, Kentucky); internal sales manager at RidgeWorth Investments (Atlanta, Georgia) and Fifth Third Asset Management (Cincinnati, Ohio); and external wholesaler at The Aquila Group of Funds (Midwest). He has generated impressive sales results at all stops due to a strong work ethic, high energy, overall knowledge and a driving desire to serve advisors.

Matt earned his B.S. from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. He obtained the Certified Investment Management AnalystSM (CIMA®) designation in 2008 from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business. In 2019, Matt became a Registered Corporate Coach (RCC) from the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches (WABC). He currently lives in Seminole, Florida, with his wife, Dawn, and their four children.
