Beautiful Evidence

I received Edward Tufte’s latest book, Beautiful Evidence, last week and began reading it last evening. (Thank you to Victoria and the other Architects of Achievement for the generous gift!) Tufte, if you’re not familiar with him, is one of the foremost names in information design and presentation. In 2004 I attended his day-long seminar in Seattle; attendence included his first three books so I now have the entire collection.
Even if you’re not an info architect or visual designer, these books are wonderful. Beautifully printed on think paper (I often think I have two pages together when turning pages), each page contains incredibly detailed, colorful reprints of visuals and their analysis. Definitely worth having, even at the (relatively) steep price of ~$50 each.
