Cross-post: The fight against academic falsification

10 Jul

I recently wrote an entry over at the UW Registrar's blog about "academic falsification," otherwise known as academic fraud.
If you have an e-mail account, you've likely been offered opportunities to buy a diploma from any number of universities (as well as some "male enhancement" pills, I'm sure). The post I wrote explains the UW's position—and specifically that of our Registrar—on academic falsification. Does it even matter if someone lies about their grades, their diploma, or even their attendance at the UW? We think it does—and you should, too.
